Welcome to the Overcomer’s Choice Award page. If you are interested in nominating a site (you don’t have to be the owner), please read the following guidelines and suggestions carefully and then, if the site qualifies, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

Judging for the Overcomer’s Choice Award is done by at least two different people in three different categories (listed by importance); Content, Appearence, and Coding.

Content

This category deals with the appropriateness, helpfulness and/or entertainment value of the site. All content must be "Family Safe". That means any site promoting pornography, hate propaganda, illegal activities such as warez and cracking, etc. are all ineligible for award nomination. The content does not need to be Christian or religious in nature, it simply must be appropriate for any and all ages. Appropriate content will be judged with personal preference as the main criteria. No matter how enjoyable or helpful the content is to other people, if it is not enjoyable or helpful to the judges the site will probably not win. We make no attempt to be unbiased in this category.

Appearence

This category deals with the "look and feel" of the site. The colors should not clash unless they serve a specific purpose. A user should not be able to get lost (where the user must use the browsers back button to continue surfing the site) anywhere on the site. The navigation should be intuitive and appropriate for the site. Ads should be kept to a minimum except on Store Fronts or ad only pages.

Coding

This category deals with load speed, HTML validity, and more advanced programming. Pop-up windows and frames should be used only when it enhances the site (mandatory pop-ups or frames on free servers excluded). The same goes for Java, Javascript, Shockwave, ActiveX, and any other similar programming language. It is helpful to provide a page without all of the “fancy stuff” if you must use any of it extensively.

If you know of a site that you think qualifies, please fill out the nomination form below and the site will be reviewed soon. If a site wins the award the owner or webmaster will be sent an email for confirmation that requests the site title, description, and url that will be added to our winners page. If a nominated site doesn’t win then the owner/webmaster will be sent an email explaining why it was not chosen and possible ways to improve it. Please don’t nominate a site twice in one week.
