to them that have no might he increaseth strength. . . .
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29 & 31.
The Lord told me I would write for him ten years before I first put pen to paper. I wrote the first paper in 1985. It was not at all what I thought it would be. For years I didn’t know what to call my writings. Newsletters? Bible studies? Sermons? What? I just called them “papers.” Recently, He told me they are “Signposts.” Then as I was reading The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancy, I found out what signposts are. They are indicators along the way to help someone going in the right direction. They do not give full information but simply point out a change of direction or give encouragement that we are still on track. I hope these signposts help you along your way.
Human words are inadequate to express spiritual truth. Only when you have already experienced a truth can you recognize it when someone else puts it into words, even if the words are not the ones you would have used. Too often we allow words to divide us when we are trying to express the same truth. God deals with us individually so, of course, the experiences will not be identical; and, even if they were, the words used to express them would be different. Don’t get tangled up in the words. Try to grasp the meaning in spite of the words used. If you need clarification on anything, email me.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please share them with me. I have added some of Bill Britton’s writing. He was very influential on my Christian walk and also my writing style. We will be adding new items all along, which usually takes longer than expected, so check back from time to time. New papers are added at the bottom of the list in the JUMP box at the top of each page. The PAPERS link in the blue bar at the left gives a short description of each paper. If you have me in cache, you may need to reload to see any changes.
The burden of my heart is to see the babies in Christ grow up into mature people who can hear from God and are trained and ready for his service. We are looking for positive, uplifting material to help Christians grow. If you write, but do not have a homepage, I will consider putting your writing on my Other Authors page. Email me. If I use it, I will send a confirmation to you. To go to the Other Authors pages use this link or the Papers link on the blue bar and choose the paper you want at the bottom of the page.
Our Links page is growing! There are so many wonderful sites on the web. We are always looking for outstanding sites to add. We do check out the sites we link to, but please be aware that following links can sometimes lead to very strange places. Suggestions for new links are welcome, but we do NOT put advertising on there. We also check out pages of those who sign our Guestbook. Please do sign, even if you do not have a page. When you put your email address on the guestbook page, it is for me only. It will NOT show on the public guestbook. Only the comment and your name will show.
We have added a Bible Search engine to the top bar for your convenience. You can search this site or type or “cut and paste” Bible references into the search engine. All Bible references on the site are also linked directly to the Bible search so you can look them up with a single click. It has many other helpful features. Check it out. The Bible search also opens a new window. Just close the window to return to this site.
An online friend wanted to know more About Us. He thought the results were worth sharing so here it is, revised as of May 2009.
The Site Map is an outline of all the pages that shows how they are interconnected as well as displaying a short description of each. It might help navigation if you decide not to wade through everything at once, but return from time to time for further study (or if you are unable to use the sidebar).
If you want to receive email when new papers are added, you can add your name to our Mailing List at Webmaster Ramblings. We DO NOT share our mailing list with anyone. Here you will also find Site news, Ways you can help this site, Links, Credits, Awards etc.
